Packaging advice

Please ensure that whatever the remains are in, whether a poly urn, cardboard carton or casket, is enclosed in a suitable box (normally shoe box size) with plenty of sufficient cushioning such as bubble wrap or shredded paper. Please note that the most import thing is that the contents arrive intact, hence the stringent packaging guidelines. One of our favourite analogies is to imagine that whatever the remains are in, is a fine crystal glass vase going through the post, and you would package them accordingly. Rest assured; nothing is more distressing for a family to receive a damaged urn due to insufficient packaging.

Please wrap the box in brown paper, print our logo below (you may need to enable pictures and downloads on your e-mail to view these) and firmly affix the logo to one side of the package. This is purely for identification purposes. Please note the envelopes marked 'documents enclosed' illustrated in the attached pictures are for international shipments only and is not required for UK to UK transportation.

Urn inside a box

With respect to cremated remains:

  • Ensure the urn / casket is sufficiently cushioned with shredded paper / bubble wrap etc.

  • Wrap the box in brown paper

  • Firmly affix one of our logos to the outside of the packaging

  • Ensure all relative legal documentation is firmly affixed to the outside of the package

What to avoid - don't:

  • Place tape or shrink wrap over labels

  • Use a PO Box number without a telephone number

  • Cover the barcode in any way

  • Put labels onto non stick materials

  • Place labels on corners of boxes

  • Loosely pack breakable with non-breakable items

  • Leave sharp edges exposed

  • Use flimsy boxes for heavy objects

  • Leave boxes unsealed

  • Send liquids, paints or thinners without being packed in cartons that meet regulations

  • Send hazardous goods - contact us for more information

  • Send engines unless crated and fully drained of oil and other liquids
